Sterling Silver Mjolnir, Mjölnir, Thors Hammer, Viking Mythology, Drop Earrings

Mjollnir, Old Norse Mjöllnir, in Norse mythology, the hammer  of the thunder god, Thor, and the symbol of his power. Forged by dwarfs, Mjolnir never failed Thor; he used to crash down on the heads of giants and as an instrument to hallow people and things. Mjollnir was stolen by the giant Thrym, who asked as ransom the hand of the goddess Freyja. When Freyja refused to go to Thrym, Thor masqueraded as her and succeeded in grabbing the hammer, which had been brought out to consecrate him as Thrym’s bride. Thor then slaughtered Thrym and the other giants with the mighty mjolnir.

Inspired by the mighty Mjölnir of Thor we present these all 925 stamped sterling silver drop earrings.

Dainty and light, the pendant for each earring measures 15mm in length and 9mm in width, these earrings are a subtle and elegant way to honour and show appreciation of this mighty Norse god.

This item will come presented on a jewellery presentation card, wrapped in a protective cellophane film inside an organza gift pouch with a jewellery care card.
